EAST LANSING, Mich.  – Nov. 5 –  Soccer fans unable to make it to Saturday’s (Nov. 7) Michigan High School Athletic Association Lower Peninsula Boys Finals, will be able to access live and on demand audio and video of the games through the MHSAA.tv Website.

Coverage of the games begins at Noon with the Division 3 contest between South Haven (19-8-1) and Detroit Country Day (23-4) at Crestwood Middle School in Kentwood, and the Division 4 finale with Ann Arbor Greenhills (25-1) taking on Hudsonville Freedom Baptist (18-6-1) at Troy Athens High School.  The second games of the day at 2:30 p.m. will have Hudsonville Unity Christian (22-1-2) facing defending champion Petoskey (22-3-1) at Crestwood Middle School for the Division 2 title, and Holt (26-0-1) against Birmingham Brother Rice (15-3-6) at Troy Athens in Division 1.  Holt is looking to become the second undefeated Boys Soccer champion in this decade, the other being Hudsonville Unity Christian in Division 2 in 2007.  There were a total of ten undefeated champions prior to 2000, and only on three occasions has an undefeated team lost in an MHSAA title game.

Spectators wishing to purchase tickets in advance for Saturday’s games may do so through TicketLeap.  Visit the home page of the MHSAA Website for more information.  Soccer is one of three fall sports advance ticketing is available through – the others are this Saturday’s Lower Peninsula Cross Country Finals at Michigan International Speedway; and the Girls Volleyball Semifinals and Finals in Battle Creek later this month.

The MHSAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation of voluntary membership by over 1,600 public and private senior high schools and junior high/middle schools which exists to develop common rules for athletic eligibility and competition.  No government funds or tax dollars support the MHSAA, which was the first such association nationally to not accept membership dues or tournament entry fees from schools.  Member schools which enforce these rules are permitted to participate in MHSAA tournaments, which attract approximately 1.6 million spectators each year.
