The School Broadcast Program was launched in 2009 to provide schools with a safe place to stream video of their athletic and non-athletic school events, provide a hands-on learning experience for students interested in video production, and serve as an exciting new fundraising platform.
Just over 20 schools, most of them from the Capital Area Activities Conference in Mid-Michigan, participated in the pilot project in 2009-10, and produced over 600 events that were streamed live (non-athletic events) and on-demand (athletic events) on the MHSAA.TV Website. The number of participating schools now totals over 400, and cover the state.
A growing number of schools are adopting the NFHS Network's automated live streaming solution - Pixellot - which follows the action up and down the playing surface with a single HD device hung on the wall of the press box of a playing venue.
A full list of schools can be seen on the School Broadcast Page of the MHSAA Website.
