EAST LANSING, Mich. – Sept. 5 – A new record of 101 radio stations and web-based audio outlets carrying the MHSAA Network’s This Week In High School Sports has been set.
This Week, in its third season after being preceded for ten years by MHSAA Perspective, had a previous high of 89 outlets during the 2015-16 school year. The program generally airs as part of a station’s high school game programming during the pre-game, halftime or post-game portion of the broadcast.
This week’s show features Watervliet football quarterback Zach Pickens, who passed for five touchdowns and ran for four more last week against Buchanan; passed out Game Balls to Lincoln Alcona boys soccer goalie Conor McCoy and Alexis Carras from the girls golf team at Midland Dow; discussed additional football rules changes for 2017 in the Be The Referee segment; and closed with a commentary on a recent National Federation resolution designating fall Friday nights as “High School Football Night” in America.
