EAST LANSING, Mich. – Feb. 9 – Grandville High School has been withdrawn from the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Team Dual Wrestling Tournament, and several of its student-athletes have been withdrawn from the Individual Wrestling Tournament as a result of exceeding the limit of regular-season days of competition during the 2015-16 season.

Grandville had been scheduled to compete in a three-team Division 1 District Tournament on Thursday at Hudsonville High School. Grandville had received a bye for the Semifinal round, qualifying it automatically to wrestle in the championship match. As a result of Grandville’s being withdrawn, the scheduled Semifinal between Hudsonville and Jenison will decide the District championship.

Grandville has multiple student-athletes who did not exceed the limit of 14 days of competition during the regular season. If they are otherwise eligible, they are permitted to enter the MHSAA Individual Wrestling Tournament. The District level for that tournament begins Saturday.
