EAST LANSING, Mich. – Jan. 5 – Coming off a two-week break, basketball games dominate the coming week’s action on MHSAA.tv – most of it live –streamed by students involved in the MHSAA’s School Broadcast Program.

In its seventh year, the School Broadcast Program gives members an opportunity to showcase excellence in their schools by  creating video programming of athletic and non-athletic events; with students gaining skills in announcing, camera operation, directing/producing and graphics.

The program also gives schools the opportunity to raise money through advertising and viewing subscriptions.

All sporting events – Live or On-Demand - are available on a subscription basis only for their first 72 hours online.  They become available for free, on-demand viewing approximately 72 hours following their completion.

Here’s the schedule of School Broadcast Program members planning to stream athletic  competition this week for broadcast at MHSAA.tv.  On-Demand listings may be available as soon as one hour following an event’s completion.  (List as of Jan. 5):

Tuesday – Jan. 5

Wednesday – Jan. 6

Thursday – Jan. 7

Friday – Jan. 8

Saturday – Jan. 9

Monday – Jan. 11

Tuesday – Jan. 12

Wednesday – Jan. 13

Schools interested in becoming a part of the School Broadcast Program should contact John Johnson at the MHSAA Office.

This week's edition of This Week In High School Sports will feature the upcoming Women In Sports Leadership Conference; congratulate Caro wrestler Tyler Deming as the Michigan Army National Guard Performer of the Week; pass out Sparrow Health Game Balls to Eden Klemett and Julia Nordstrom of Painesdale Jeffers; talk about respecting middle school officials during the Be The Referee segment; and finish with a commentary on how a one-time high school marching band member came to respect the school’s football players.   For a complete list of complete list of outlets carrying the program, and to listen to archived programs, visit the This Week In High School Sports page of the MHSAA Website.
