EAST LANSING, Mich. – Sept. 8 – For the third straight year, the MHSAA Championship Radio Network has over 80 over-the-air radio stations and audio websites carrying its weekly programming.

During the Fall and Winter sports seasons, 83 affiliates air the five-minute feature program, This Week In High School Sports, as part of their regularly scheduled high school sports programming.  Most stations include the program as part of their game night coverage, and many will be a part of the Boys and Girls Basketball Finals Network in March.

This Week In High School Sports features sports happenings from around the state, including interviews with student-athletes; a one-minute segment from MHSAA Assistant Director Mark Uyl on officiating called Be The Referee; and a closing one-minute MHSAA Perspective commentary.

This week’s program leads with a story on Hannah and Sarah Tabit of Mount Morris, which have led the Panthers to the top of the heap in Class B girls volleyball at this point in the season; passes out three This Week Game Balls for outstanding performances last week; discusses how officials can correct a down in the Be The Referee segment; and closes with a Perspective about how there’s nothing special about specialization in youth sports.
