EAST LANSING, Mich. – Oct. 21 –  Just in time for a heavy month of post-season tournament coverage, three month-long subscriptions to MHSAA.tv will be given away this week using the Association’s social media presence.

On Thursday (Oct. 23), one winner will be drawn at random at 3 p.m. from Twitter users retweeting information about the giveaway.  On Friday (Oct. 24), two winners will be randomly selected at 3 p.m. from an Instagram post asking users to Share or Like the giveaway on Facebook.  Complete details can be found on each platform.

The passes will be good for 30 days, and will allow the winners to view over 125 hours of live MHSAA tournament action in Cross Country, Football, Boys Soccer, Girls Swimming & Diving, and Girls Volleyball; plus other live events across the country on NFHSNetwork.com.  A Month Pass sells for $14.95 on the MHSAA.tv

Live coverage on MHSAA.tv of the MHSAA Boys Soccer Tournament continues this week, beginning on Tuesday (Oct. 21), with Regional Semifinal activity at 4 sites.  There will also be coverage of two games in the Semifinal round on Oct. 29.  Here’s the complete schedule:

All live against are available on MHSAA.tv on a subscription basis.   Subscriptions run either $9.95 for a Day Pass, or $14.95 for a Month Pass.  Games will become available for free On Demand viewing three days after they have been played.

Weekly highlights, features and analysis of high school football games across the state on MHSAA Football Friday Overtime are now available for On Demand viewing on the Prep Zone page of the FOX Sports Detroit Website - http://www.foxsports.com/detroit/high-school

The Prep Zone page will also be where fans can watch four live MHSAA Football Playoff games each week of the tournament.

Football Friday Overtime is in its fourth season on FOX Sports Detroit, airing at Midnight each Friday and running for 13 weeks.  Mickey York and Rob Rubick host this 30-minute highlights show.  The show reairs Saturdays at 11 a.m., and Sunday mornings – check your local listings.  (This week at 7 a.m.)

The School Broadcast Program gives members an opportunity to showcase excellence in their schools by creating video programming of athletic and non-athletic events; with students gaining skills in announcing, camera operation, directing/producing and graphics.  The program also gives schools the opportunity to raise money through advertising and viewing subscriptions.   A year-high total of 71 events were streamed by schools last week, with activities ranging from daily announcements to school board meetings, live sporting events and pep rallies.   As many as 60 MHSAA member schools annually participate in the program, which is in its sixth year.

Here’s the schedule of School Broadcast Program members planning to cover varsity competition this week for broadcast at MHSAA.tv  (As of Oct. 14).  The following events will be shown live on a subscription basis:

  • Sparta at Comstock Park – Football – Friday – 7 p.m.
  • Lakeview at Stanton Central Montcalm – Football – Friday – 6:50 p.m.
  • Reese at Whittemore-Prescott – Football – Friday – 6:45 p.m.
  • Grand Rapids Forest Hills Eastern at Cedar Springs – Football – Friday – 7 p.m.
  • Lawton at Watervliet – Football – Friday – 7 p.m.

The following events will be available following their completion via Video on Demand:

  • Houghton at Calumet – Girls Volleyball – Thursday – 7 p.m.

Subscriptions support individual school programs; and many schools are now offering discounted annual passes through their portal pages, which will also allow for live viewing of nearly 300 live MHSAA post-season tournament events throughout the school year.

Now in its tenth season is the radio commentary MHSAA Perspective – presented by the Michigan Army National Guard, which airs on over 80 radio stations and audio outlets across the state, generally during the local broadcasts of high school games.  The program runs for 30 weeks through the end of the winter sports season.  MHSAA Perspective can also be accessed from the home page of the MHSAA Website.
