EAST LANSING, Mich. – Oct. 7 –  The first of over 300 live streaming MHSAA Tournament games for the 2014-15 school year will take place next week when MHSAA.tv begins its coverage of playoff action with District Semifinal play in the Boys Soccer Tournament.

Leading up to the Finals on Nov. 1, MHSAA.tv will carry eight District and eight Regional Semifinal games in the Boys Soccer Tournament, plus two Semifinal round games.  Pre-finals coverage during the Fall will also take place during the Girls Volleyball Tournament and the Football Playoffs.

Subscriptions run either $9.95 for a Day Pass, or $14.95 for a Month Pass.  Games will become available for free On Demand viewing three days after they have been played.

Here’s a rundown of the District, Regional and Semifinal Boys Soccer Tournament coverage over the next three weeks:

The School Broadcast Program gives members an opportunity to showcase excellence in their schools by creating video programming of athletic and non-athletic events; with students gaining skills in announcing, camera operation, directing/producing and graphics.  The program also gives schools the opportunity to raise money through advertising and viewing subscriptions.   A total of 66 events were streamed by schools last week, with activities ranging from daily announcements to school board meetings, live sporting events and Powder Puff football games inductions.   As many as 60 MHSAA member schools annually participate in the program, which is in its sixth year.

Here’s the schedule of School Broadcast Program members planning to cover varsity competition this week for broadcast at MHSAA.tv  (As of Oct. 6).  The following events will be shown live on a subscription basis:

  • Posen at Hillman – Girls Volleyball – Thursday 7 p.m.
  • Hale at Lincoln Alcona – Football – Friday , 7 p.m.
  • Three Rivers at Plainwell – Football – Friday, 7 p.m.
  • Oscoda at Lincoln Alcona – Girls Volleyball – Oct. 14, 7:30 p.m.
  • Fairview at Whittemore-Prescott – Girls Volleyball – Oct. 14, 7 p.m.

Subscriptions support individual school programs; and many schools are now offering discounted annual passes through their portal pages, which will also allow for live viewing of nearly 300 live MHSAA post-season tournament events throughout the school year.

Weekly highlights, features and analysis of high school football games across the state on MHSAA Football Friday Overtime are now available for On Demand viewing on the Prep Zone page of the FOX Sports Detroit Website - http://www.foxsports.com/detroit/high-school

The Prep Zone page will also be where fans can watch four live MHSAA Football Playoff games each week of the tournament.

Football Friday Overtime is in its fourth season on FOX Sports Detroit, airing at Midnight each Friday and running for 13 weeks.  Mickey York and Rob Rubick host this 30-minute highlights show.  The show reairs Saturdays at 11 a.m., and Sunday mornings – check your local listings.  (This week at 7 a.m.)

Now in its tenth season is the radio commentary MHSAA Perspective – presented by the Michigan Army National Guard, which airs on over 80 radio stations and audio outlets across the state, generally during the local broadcasts of high school games.  The program runs for 30 weeks through the end of the winter sports season.  MHSAA Perspective can also be accessed from the home page of the MHSAA Website.
