EAST LANSING, Mich. – June 23 –  Over the next eight weeks, the MHSAA.tv Website will spotlight some of the best tournament action from the 2013-14 school year, presenting four games each week.

Each contest will be easily identified with a “Best Of 13-14” thumbnail on the home page of the MHSAA.tv Website.  Here’s a look at the games which will be featured from June 23-30:

• Pewamo-Westphalia v. Carson City-Crystal:  2013 Division 7 Football Playoff District Final.   Ross Wolniakowski ran for 147 yards on 20 carries, including a 54-yard score in the first quarter to help Pewamo-Westphalia claim a 20-14 win in this District title game.

•  Saginaw Swan Valley v. Grand Rapids Catholic Central:  2014 Division 3 Team Wrestling Quarterfinal.  A hard-fought 4-2 overtime win by Matt Santos over Devin Schroder in the last weight class of the match (125 pounts) gave Swan Valley a 31-27 victory over Catholic Central.

•  Hartland v. Muskegon Reeths-Puffer:  2104 Div. 2 Ice Hockey Semifinal.  Goalie Nick Wineka stopped 37 Reeths-Puffer shots to help Hartland to a 2-1 decision in this game at Compuware Arena.

•  Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart v. Crystal Falls Forest Park:  2014 Class D Girls Basketball Final.  The Irish trailed by 8 points with 2:42 left, but finished with a 14-3 run to win, 56-53.  Riley Terwilliger’s triple with 29 second left put Sacred Heart in the lead to stay.

During the course of the 2013-14 school year, over 3,000 events were produced on MHSAA.tv by PlayOn! Sports and MHSAA member schools participating in the School Broadcasting Program, covering everything from athletics to announcements to commencements to the performing arts and school board meetings.
