EAST LANSING, Mich. – Nov. 12 – Highlights of recent MHSAA Finals in Upper Peninsula Cross Country and Lower Peninsula Girls Golf are now available for viewing on the MHSAA.tv website.
The Cross Country video features highlights from all three divisions in the boys and girls competition from Oct. 26 at the Gentz Homestead Golf Course in Munising, plus interviews from Kameron Burmeister of Menominee, the Division 1 girls individual champ; Abbey Tembruell from Hancock, who won the girls Division 2 race; Carly Gratopp of Whitefish Township, a school sponsoring its first cross country team, and her school superintendent/principal John Prescott; Anna Baij of Division 3 team champion Munising; Lance Rambo, the Division 1 individual champ in the boys event; Jared Joki of Ironwood, the Division 2 boys individual champion; Andrew Sjogren of Division 2 boys team champion St. Ignace; and Connor Cappaert, the Division 3 individual boys champion from Stephenson.
The L.P. Girls Golf Finals took place Oct. 18-19 at four different courses. Interviews on this highlights piece come from Elle Nichols from Okemos, who won her third Division 2 title; Division 1 champion Lily Pendy of Grosse Pointe South; and Jim Bennett, the coach of Division 4 team champion Grosse Ile.
DVD’s of these highlights pieces can be ordered from the MHSAA.tv for $25.00. In the weeks ahead, highlights of the L.P. Boys Tennis and L.P. Cross Country Finals will also be available for viewing at MHSAA.tv.
Four games in the MHSAA Football Playoffs will be highlighted each week during the first four weeks of the tournament at the Prep Zone return to stream live video on the FOX Sports Detroit website.
This is the third season for the Prep Zone, with the kickoff at 7 p.m. on Fridays during the first three weeks of the tournament; and then a 1 p.m. launch for the Semifinal games on Saturday, Nov. 23. All of the games are available live at FoxSportsDetroit.com/pages/PrepZone, and will be archived long term on the MHSAA.tv website.
This week’s games on the Prep Zone are:
- Battle Creek Pennfield (10-1) at Grand Rapids South Christian (10-1)
- Saginaw Swan Valley (11-0) at Lansing Sexton (11-0)
- Melvindale (9-2) at St. Clair (10-1)
- St. Ignace (9-2) at Beal City (11-0)
FOX Sports Detroit continues its weekly MHSAA Football Friday Overtime this Friday (Nov. 15) at Midnight. The program reairs on Saturday (Nov. 16) at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday (Nov. 17) at 9 a.m. Here’s where the FFOT cameras will be this week:

Each week, packages of highlights produced by schools in the School Broadcast Program are featured on the MHSAA.tv website and the MHSAA YouTube Channel, and selected schools provide footage for the MHSAA’s Football Friday Overtime show on FOX Sports Detroit during the regular season.

The network for the weekly radio commentary MHSAA Perspective – presented by the Michigan Army National Guard – has now grown to a total of 86 radio stations (80) and audio webcast sites (6) across the state, generally during the local broadcasts of high school games. The program runs for 30 weeks through the end of the winter sports season. MHSAA Perspective can also be accessed from the home page of the MHSAA Website.
