EAST LANSING, Mich. - Oct. 22 -
The highly successful Prep Zone coverage of the MHSAA Football Playoffs returns on the FOX Sports Detroit Website for a second season, with four games being streamed live each week for the first four weeks of the tournament. 

This year’s coverage kicks off at 7 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 25) on FoxSportsDetroit.com with the following games:  Lapeer West at DeWitt, Farmington Hills Harrison at Fenton, Leslie at Portland and Howell at Walled Lake Northern. 

All of the Prep Zone games will be archived on the MHSAA.tv website the week after they are played for on-demand viewing. 

The Prep Zone games will also be featured each week on MHSAA Football Friday Overtime on FOX sports Detroit at 11:30 p.m. Friday.  An encore presentation takes place Saturday at 10 a.m.   Here’s where the FFOT cameras are scheduled to be this week:

More Playoffs Games on MHSAA.tv 

Each week during the Football Playoffs, the MHSAA Network and its television partner PlayOn! Sports, will produce a contest that will be available for viewing the following Tuesday on the MHSAA.tv and on Comcast Channel 900. 

This week’s game is a Division 1 match-up with Detroit Catholic Central at Hartland.  The game will be shown on Comcast Channel 900 the following Tuesday at 9:30 p.m.; Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.; and Sunday at 6 p.m.  The game will also be available online for Xfinity subscribers at Xfinity.com/HighSchoolSports, and highlights will also be available on the Xfinity on Demand service.   

 

New Weekly Content on MHSAA.tv 

There's always fresh content to watch each week on the home page of the MHSAA.tv website.  Two games from the School Broadcasting Program are being featured each week, along with a package of highlights from the previous week, and a new MHSAA Classic game from year’s past is placed center stage for fans to relive again.

This week's Best Of series games are:
- Boys Soccer - DeWitt vs. East Lansing - Produced by East Lansing High School
- Football -  Lawton at Watervliet - Produced by Watervliet High School  

This week's MHSAA.TV Highlights features clips of the Menominee at Petoskey, Gaylord at St. Johns and Yale at North Branch football games; and a boys District soccer match between Lansing Eastern and St. Johns.  

This week's MHSAA Classic is the 1997 Class C Football Final between  Ravenna and Decatur, where Willy Rolison scores four times for Ravenna in a 48-26 victory.

 

Live Finals Streams on MHSAA.tv Next Week 

The MHSAA.tv website is the exclusive home to a number of fall championship events.  The fall live streaming schedule begins next week on Nov. 3, at the Lower Peninsula Boys Soccer Finals and the Lower Peninsula Cross Country Finals. 

The Boys Soccer coverage will feature all four games, with two games starting at Noon, and two at 3 p.m.  There will also be audio coverage of the games on the MHSAANetwork.com Website. 

The Cross Country coverage will again have a finish line camera, with audio commentary throughout each race from reporters around the course at Michigan International Speedway; and for the first time, live coverage of the awards ceremonies.  The morning session begins with racing at 10 a.m. in Divisions 3 and 4; followed by the awards at about 12:30 p.m.  The afternoon session begins at about 1:30 p.m. in Divisions 1 and 2; with the awards at about 3:30 p.m. 

 

Highlights Programs on MHSAA.tv

MHSAA.tv will also feature highlights programs of MHSAA Fall Championships in Cross Country, Golf and Tennis.  The Upper Peninsula Girls Tennis Finals can now be viewed on MHSAA.tv.  Lower Peninsula Championships in Girls Golf, Boys Tennis and Cross Country will be available online beginning in November.

 

PlayOn! Sports coverage on Xfinity 

PlayOn! Sports, an MHSAA Network television partner, will be mid-Michigan on Thursday (Oct. 25) to over the CAAC Gold Cup Championship in Girls Volleyball.  The finalists will be determined on Tuesday (Oct. 23).   

The CAAC finale will first air on Comcast Channel 900 on the following Tuesday at 7 p.m., with an additional airings on Saturday at 3 p.m.  The games will be online for Xfinity subscribers at Xfinity.com/HighSchoolSports, and highlights will also be available on the Xfinity on Demand service.  

 

MHSAA Perspective 

Now in its eighth season is the radio commentary MHSAA Perspective, which will air on over 60 radio stations across the state, generally during the local broadcasts of high school games.  The program runs for 30 weeks through the end of the winter sports season.  MHSAA Perspective can also be accessed from the home page of the MHSAA Website.   

This week’s show:  Whatever Happened To Values-Based Programs?  This week’s Perspective discusses the need for values-based school sports programs.
