EAST LANSING, Mich. - Sept. 18 - There's always fresh content to watch each week on the home page of the MHSAA.tv website.  Two games from the School Broadcasting Program are being featured each week, along with a package of highlights from the previous week, and a new MHSAA Classic game from year’s past is placed center stage for fans to relive again.

This week's Best Of series games are:
- Boys Soccer - Spring Lake at Ludington - Produced by Ludington High School
- Football - Goodrich at Montrose - Produced by Montrose High School

This week's MHSAA.TV Highlights features clips of the Goodrich-Montrose, Marlette-Hillman, Owosso-St. Johns and Vermontville Maple Valley-Kalamazoo Christian football games, and a Big North girls volleyball match between Traverse City West and Petoskey.

This week's MHSAA Classic is the 1994 Class B Football Final between Belding and Detroit Country Day, which is still the highest-scoring final game of all time, with Belding mounting a comeback to win, 50-41.

School Broadcast Program on MHSAA.tv

Here’s the schedule of schools planning to cover varsity athletic events, which will be available at MHSAA.tv shortly after each game’s conclusion (As of Sept. 17):

Through last Saturday (Sept. 15), the Student Broadcast Program had posted 115 events of all types of athletic and non-athletic events occurring between the schools involved in the program since the beginning o f the school year.  There were 38 productions last week – 25 of them athletic events; the remainder programs ranging from daily announcements and news; to school board meetings.  Last year’s student-produced events totaled 2,474 over the entire school year.

Over 70 schools are involved in the School Broadcasting Program.  Schools interested in becoming a part of the program should contact John Johnson at the MHSAA Office.

MHSAA Football Friday Overtime on FOX Sports Detroit

Every Friday at Midnight is MHSAA Football Friday Overtime on FOX Sports Detroit.  Mickey York and Rob Rubick return to host the weekly 30-minute highlights show.  An encore presentation takes place Saturday’s at 10:30 a.m.   Here’s where the FFOT cameras are scheduled to be this week:

PlayOn! Sports coverage on Xfinity

PlayOn! Sports, an MHSAA Network television partner, will be in Holland on Friday (Sept. 14) for an O-K Conference crossover game between Dearborn and Dearborn Fordson.  It’s the fifth of 13 games that will be featured each week by Xfinity on various platforms.

Each week’s featured game will be presented by Xfinity to viewers on Comcast Channel 900 on the following Tuesday at 9:30 p.m., on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.; Saturday at 3 p.m.; and Sunday at 6 p.m.  The games will be online for Xfinity subscribers at Xfinity.com/HighSchoolSports, and highlights will also be available on the Xfinity on Demand service.  Here’s the upcoming football schedule:

Week 6 - Holland West Ottawa at Rockford, Sept. 28
Week 7 – Grosse Pointe South at Grosse Pointe North, Oct. 5 – SCHEDULE CHANGE

In addition, one game each week during the first four rounds of the MHSAA Football Playoffs will also be presented; and three additional fall events will also be featured.

MHSAA Perspective

Now in its eighth season is the radio commentary MHSAA Perspective, which will air on over 60 radio stations across the state, generally during the local broadcasts of high school games.  The program runs for 30 weeks through the end of the winter sports season.  MHSAA Perspective can also be accessed from the home page of the MHSAA Website. 

This week’s show:  Five For Fifty  - ListenDownload - This week's edition of Perspective recalls the night Holland's Tom Essenburg set a state record with five interceptions against Muskegon Heights back in 1962.  A record which turns 50 this week.
