EAST LANSING, Mich. – June 18 – There’s three more weekends of spring MHSAA Championship action airing on FOX Sports Detroit, with last Saturday’s (June 16) Baseball Finals in Battle Creek taking to the airwaves this Sunday (June 24).
The Baseball Finals will be shown on FOX Sports Detroit-PLUS beginning at Noon with the Division 1 game between Hudsonville and Warren DeLaSalle; followed at 2:30 p.m. by the Division 2 tilt involving Grand Rapids Christian and Bay City John Glenn; and the Division 4 game wraps things up with Decatur and Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett facing each other at 7:30 p.m. FOX Sports Detroit-PLUS programming is available on cable statewide; satellite providers may not carry delayed programming, so consult your local listings. (NOTE - Due to technical difficulties, the Division 3 game at 5 p.m. with Madison Heights Bishop Foley against Lansing Catholic will not air as originally scheduled - the game will be shown on July 1 at Noon on FOX Sports-PLUS).
In coming weekends, the Softball Finals will air on FOX Sports Detroit-PLUS on June 30, with Division 1 (Hudsonville vs. Mattawan) at Noon, Division 2 (Livonia Ladywood vs. Saginaw Swan Valley) at 2:30 p.m.; and on July 1 with Division 4 (Dansville vs. Petersburg-Summerfield) at 2 p.m. The Division 3 Final between Clinton and Gladstone will not be televised due to technical difficulties encountered at the site.
The Girls Soccer Finals will air on FOX Sports Detroit-PLUS on July 7, with Division 1 (Okemos vs. Troy) at 10 a.m., Division 2 Bloomfield Hills Marian vs. Plainwell) at Noon, Division 3 (Hudsonville Unity Christian vs. Flint Powers Catholic) at 2 p.m., and Division 4 (Grandville Calvin Christian vs. Waterford Our Lady/Clarkston Everest) at 4 p.m.
This week on Comcast Channel 900, the MHSAA Network concludes its Game Night coverage of spring sports on Wednesday (June 20) with a pair of Quarterfinal games in the MHSAA Softball Tournament from June 12 – with Coloma taking on Flat Rock in Division 2 at 7 p.m., and Monroe playing Garden City in Division 1 at 9:30 p.m. These games will air on June 20.
Comcast Channel 900 begins showing reairs of MHSAA Finals in Spring sports this week. The Boys Lacrosse Finals begin airings on Thursday (June 21), and the Girls Lacrosse Finals begin on Saturday (June 23). Following the initial airing of other Spring championships on FOX Sports Detroit, those games will make their way onto Comcast Channel 900.

The MHSAA.tv Website is being populated with content from member schools from both peninsulas participating in the Digital Broadcasting Program. Over 50 schools are involved in the program from the Big 8 Conference, Big 9 Conference, Detroit Catholic High School League, Charter School Conference, Downriver League, Flint Metro League, Genesee Athletic Conference, Huron League, Kalamazoo Valley Association, Kensington Lakes Activities Association, Macomb Area Conference, Michigan Interscholastic Hockey League, Northwest Conference, Oakland Activities Association, O-K Conference, Saginaw Valley League, Southeastern Conference, Southwestern Athletic Conference, Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference (Big 16), Tri-Valley Conference, West Michigan D League, West-Pac Conference and the Wolverine Conference.
Athletic event coverage has concluded for the school year. Through Sunday (June 17), the Student Broadcast Program had posted 2,475 events of all types of athletic and non-athletic events occurring between the schools involved in the program. There were 21 productions last week – ranging from commencement and awards ceremonies, to daily announcements and news; to concerts, and school board meetings. Last year’s student-produced events totaled 1,479 over the entire school year.
The MHSAA.tv Website has already set a new viewership record through the Fall and Winter sports seasons with 1.83 million pageviews during the 2011-12 school year as of June 17, surpassing the previous record of 1.48 million pageviews during the entire 2010-11 school year.
Over 950,000 pageviews took place during Winter tournaments, when live streaming of the Upper Peninsula Swimming & Diving Finals, Team Dual Wrestling Finals, Individual Wrestling Finals, Girls Competitive Cheer Finals, Ice Hockey Semifinals, Girls Basketball Semifinals and Boys Basketball Semifinals took place.
In addition, a record 470,539 pageviews have been generated by MHSAA Network content being streamed live on FoxSportsDetroit.com, bringing the total to date to 2,303,331. For the entire 2010-11 school year, there were approximately 400,000 pageviews of live streaming MHSAA Network content on FoxSportsDetroit.com, bringing the total for that year to 1.88 million. In 2009-10, MHSAA.tv had 1.13 million pageviews.
The MHSAA Network delivers coverage of regular season and MHSAA Tournament competition across multiple platforms – cable television, radio and the internet – to fans of high school sports across the state and around the world. In addition to providing content to cable partners Comcast Television and FOX Sports Detroit, the MHSAA Network features two websites – MHSAA.tv and MHSAANetwork.com – where fans can click to view or listen to content; and a radio network of over 40 stations statewide which annually carry the MHSAA Basketball Finals and the commentary MHSAA Perspective, which airs for 30 weeks during the school year.
