EAST LANSING, Mich.  – Feb. 16 –  Wrestling fans will have a bevy of options to enjoy the final round of Michigan High School Athletic Association tournaments this year through unprecedented coverage by the MHSAA Network.

The MHSAA Network will produce three live events, available only online through the MHSAA.tv website.  The coverage begins on Sunday (Feb. 21) at 6 p.m., when MHSAA.tv will carry the exclusive announcement of the seeds and the pairings for the Team Dual Wrestling Finals in Battle Creek.  The Team Dual Tournament is the only MHSAA event where the teams are seeded for the Quarterfinal round of play, with the seeding to take place during the day on Sunday.  The MHSAA.com website will post the seeds and pairings on its Wrestling page at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

For the Team Dual Wrestling Finals in Battle Creek on Feb. 26-27, and the Individual Wrestling Finals at The Palace of Auburn Hills on March 4-5-6, fans unable to make it to those events will be able to watch live streaming video online through the MHSAA.tv website.  There will be a camera dedicated to each mat at both events – four at the Team Dual Finals, 12 at the Individual Wrestling Finals – each providing a view of the entire mat.  A single announcer will be on the online broadcast providing basic information about what is taking place on all of the mats.

The MHSAA Network’s presence at both events extends onto cable television, where all Semifinal and Final matches from the Team Dual Wrestling and all Final matches from the Individual Wrestling Finals will be shown on Comcast Channel 900 in April.  Here’s the schedule for the Team Dual Finals coverage:

All of the Team Dual and Individual Finals productions will also be available in April for on-demand viewing on the MHSAA.TV website.

The MHSAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation of voluntary membership by over 1,600 public and private senior high schools and junior high/middle schools which exists to develop common rules for athletic eligibility and competition.  No government funds or tax dollars support the MHSAA, which was the first such association nationally to not accept membership dues or tournament entry fees from schools.  Member schools which enforce these rules are permitted to participate in MHSAA tournaments, which attract approximately 1.6 million spectators each year.
