EAST LANSING, Mich. – Jan. 31 – Every Michigan High School Athletic Association member school and its community has a story. The MHSAA has created “Second Half” as its online home for those stories behind the scores, and also additional information for fans of the 28 sports for which the Association sponsors a postseason tournament.

Second Half will house originally-produced feature articles from all regions of our state, plus serve as a hub for news, blogs and other updates coming from the MHSAA office. Weekly features include recognition of top performers and commentaries from members of the MHSAA Student Advisory Council, and daily coverage will be ramped up for the MHSAA Finals. The site also is connected to the Association’s increasing collection of scores, schedules and standings found at MHSAA.com, and will provide updated listings of MHSAA Network broadcasts found at MHSAA.tv.

To visit Second Half, go to http://SecondHalf.MHSAA.com or click on the link on the MHSAA home site at http://www.MHSAA.com. For MHSAA Network events, go to http://www.MHSAA.tv.

Second Half is edited by MHSAA Media & Content Coordinator Geoff Kimmerly, who joined the staff in September after nearly 12 years as Prep Sports Editor at the Lansing State Journal.

The MHSAA is a private, not-for-profit corporation of voluntary membership by more than 1,600 public and private senior high schools and junior high/middle schools which exists to develop common rules for athletic eligibility and competition. No government funds or tax dollars support the MHSAA, which was the first such association nationally to not accept membership dues or tournament entry fees from schools. Member schools which enforce these rules are permitted to participate in MHSAA tournaments, which attract approximately 1.6 million spectators each year.
