When rushed into early and intense specialization in a single sport, youth may not be ready for the rigors of that sport.
What is much more often true is that specialization in a sport that is too early and too intense stunts a young person’s physical literacy . . .
I am encouraged that “someday” may be coming soon when the symbol of business – The Wall Street Journal – features an article on the dangers of sport specialization that is too early and intense.
It has been a brilliant blend of successes and failures and wins and losses that work together in school sports to help form healthy, happy adults.
