Results of the 2009 Update Meeting Opinion Poll indicate attendees prefer the status quo over any “tweaks” in basketball seasons, but prefer a later start for spring sports.

  • 71.7% of 709 respondents oppose reversing the current basketball schedule to have the boys season start and end one week before the girls season.
  • 76.3% of 709 respondents oppose lengthening the one-week offset of girls and boys seasons to two, three or four weeks.
  • 69.3% of 709 respondents favor a one-week delay for the start of spring sports practices.

Survey participants consist primarily of athletic directors, then principals, then superintendents and a handful of other constituents.  Results provide guidance to the Representative Council but are not “binding” in the way all-school mailed ballots might be viewed.
