For the first time since 1998, MHSAA member schools are voting to amend the MHSAA Constitution.

A package of editorial changes and procedural updates was reviewed by the Representative Council last December; and on March 26, the Council approved its distribution to the membership.  Ballots must be signed by the school principal and district superintendent and returned by April 19.  Among the changes . . .

  • Removes references to the MHSAA Bulletin, which has been replaced with the publication benchmarks.
  • Adds reference to the MHSAA’s Audit and Finance Committee that has existed for many years.
  • Eliminates allowing designees to sign in the place of superintendents on election ballots for the MHSAA Representative Council.

If two-thirds of responding junior high/middle schools and high schools approve the changes, they become effective Aug. 1, 2010.
