Escanaba’s Dan Flynn has advocated for Michigan high school student-athletes both in the Upper Peninsula and throughout Michigan during his more than 40 years as a coach, official and athletic administrator. In recognition of his service, Flynn has been named the 2014 recipient of the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Charles E. Forsythe Award.

March Magic Hoopfest will return to Jenison Field House for this weekend’s Michigan High School Athletic Association Boys Basketball Finals, marking the fifth championship weekend the event has run concurrent with the games being played at Michigan State University’s Breslin Center.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association is proud to partner with the United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM) to name chocolate milk the “official beverage” of the MHSAA. The sponsorship will give UDIM traditional advertising exposure at all MHSAA championship games for football and basketball.

As leader of one of the Lansing area’s most successful athletic programs and a key voice in the creation and growth of the Capital Area Activities Conference, Teri Reyburn has contributed significantly to mid-Michigan sports during 15 years as athletic director at DeWitt High School. Those successes and her continuous service to Michigan High School Athletic Association programs will be celebrated Sunday, Feb. 2, when she receives the MHSAA’s 27th Women In Sports Leadership Award during the WISL banquet at the Crowne Plaza Lansing West.
