The Michigan High School Athletic Association and Ford Field have agreed to a two-year extension of their contract to have the Association’s Football Finals take place at the 65,000-seat facility in downtown Detroit through the 2011 season.

High school football teams around the state will fire up their high definition television sets on Sunday (October 25) at 7 p.m. (EDT) when Fox Sports Detroit makes the announcement of  the qualifiers and pairings for the 2009 Michigan High School Athletic Association Football Playoffs during the Selection Sunday Show, which will originate from FSDetroit’s new HD studio in its Southfield headquarters.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association created its Student Advisory Council four years ago to serve not only as the voice of high school student-athletes in the state, but also as a service arm of the organization.  This month, the Council again provides leadership to its peers with the release of a publication written by its members and aimed at sports team captains.
