Simply put, these are schools where administrators are dedicated to creating a proper perspective of school-sponsored, student-centered sports, and spend time on this daily.
The stakes may be higher for decisions made away from the sport by coaches and officials than the decisions they make in the athletic arena.
We educate the whole child; and the whole world wants what we do.
If I were to listen only to coaches of one sport or another, I’m likely to learn about issues that affect that sport, but not much about issues that affect other sports, or affect schools as a whole.
As schools have consolidated during the past two generations, many of the towns that lost their schools have also lost their identity and much of their vitality.
