It is because bad incidents are so very rare that they make news.
I would require and pay for both initial and continuing education of all coaches, both high school and junior high/middle school, head coaches and assistants, paid and volunteer.
That’s the story. But it’s been mangled by most professional and social media which have rushed mindlessly to ridicule the athletic association.
We receive much unsolicited comment about the performances of officials and the conduct of spectators.
