Stevensville Lakeshore rode the arm of senior hurler Amber Castonguay to its second
straight MHSAA softball title, a 3-0 decision over Dearborn Divine Child in the Division
II finale. Castonguay fanned 12 and walked just two en route to a one-hit shutout over
Divine Child and its ace, Jennifer Elwell, who tossed a no-hitter vs. Pinconning in the
semifinals a day earlier. Lakeshore got on the board in the second inning with an
unearned run, then added two more in the third. Senior first baseman Amanda Wolke
provided the spark in the third with and RBI single, one of her two hits for the day.
Lakeshore closed its season 40-4, while Divine Child posted a 23-12 mark.
